Kia Carens Clavis EV will come with two battery options, promising an impressive claimed range of up to 490 km per charge.
Kia India has officially announced the launch of the highly anticipated Kia Carens Clavis EV today. With its unveiling, the pre-bookings are expected to open soon. The EV retains many design elements of the refreshed Carens Clavis ICE while adding EV-centric features that set it apart.
At the front, the Kia Carens Clavis EV showcases a sleek light bar that spans across the fascia, accompanied by a triple-pod LED headlamp setup. A charging flap is placed on the nose, complementing the overall futuristic design. Further enhancing its aesthetic appeal, the car features new dual-tone alloy wheels and stylish fog lamps above the skid plate.

Inside, the cabin aligns with Kia’s modern design philosophy. It features a two-spoke steering wheel, twin digital displays for instrumentation and infotainment, roof-mounted AC vents for rear passengers, ambient lighting, a raised center tunnel, and wireless charging. Additionally, Kia has included its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) system, enabling users to power external devices directly from the car.
For seating arrangements, the Clavis EV offers a seven-seat layout as standard, with a six-seat option likely to be available. This model will hold the distinction of being the first mid-size electric MPV in India, with prices expected to start at approximately Rs. 15 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia’s i-Pedal regenerative braking technology, providing single-pedal functionality, will also enhance the driving experience.

Although Kia has kept the electric motor specifications and battery outputs under wraps, it has confirmed an IDC-certified range of up to 490 km per charge. It is speculated that the Clavis EV will use Hyundai Creta Electric’s battery options, which include 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh units.
Kia’s electric foray doesn’t stop here. The Syros EV, a budget-friendly compact SUV, is expected to make its market debut by 2026. Positioned below the Kia Seltos, the Syros EV will compete with models like the Tata Punch EV, expanding Kia’s efforts to cater to the value-driven EV segment.
