Hyundai Motor India (HMIL) is making it easier for customers to own a new car, announcing a substantial price reduction across its entire passenger vehicle range. This move comes in response to the government’s decision to lower the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, with the new prices taking effect on September 22, 2025.
This significant price adjustment is expected to boost consumer sentiment and make personal mobility more accessible for millions. In a statement, Unsoo Kim, MD & CEO of Hyundai Motor India, described the government’s GST reform as a progressive measure. He emphasized that it will not only invigorate the automotive industry but also directly empower customers. Kim reaffirmed Hyundai’s dedication to supporting India’s growth and delivering on its promise of value, innovation, and the joy of driving.
The GST overhaul has revised the tax structure for ICE-powered cars and SUVs, bringing them into a lower slab of either 18% or 40%. This is a considerable drop from the previous tax burden, which ranged from 29% to 50% (combining 28% GST with a compensation cess of 1% to 22%). Hyundai has confirmed that the full benefit of this tax reduction is being passed on directly to its customers, ensuring complete transparency and making its vehicles more affordable than ever.
The price cuts are comprehensive, impacting every segment from hatchbacks to flagship SUVs. In the hatchback category, the popular Grand i10 Nios now costs up to ₹73,808 less. The stylish i20 sees a reduction of ₹98,053, while its sportier N Line variant is cheaper by ₹1,08,116. For those in the market for a sedan, the Aura is now more affordable by ₹78,465, and the Verna receives a price cut of ₹60,640.

However, the most significant savings are found in the booming SUV segment. The compact Exter is now more accessible with a price drop of ₹89,209. The popular Venue and its N Line version see their prices fall by over ₹1.2 lakh. Even the best-selling Creta and its sporty N Line edition are now around ₹72,000 more affordable. The larger SUVs, such as the Alcazar and the premium Tucson, have also received substantial reductions, with the Tucson leading the pack with an impressive price cut of ₹2,40,303.
This strategic price adjustment places Hyundai in a powerful position, especially with the festive season on the horizon. The combination of lower ownership costs and greater accessibility is set to drive a surge in demand. For anyone considering a new car, Hyundai has just provided a compelling reason to make that purchase sooner rather than later.
