Volvo EX30 Launched in India: Priced at ₹39.99 Lakh, Becomes New Entry-Point to Luxury EVs

Volvo EX30 Launched in India - Priced at ₹39.99 Lakh

Volvo Cars India has officially introduced the EX30, its smallest and most affordable electric vehicle, to the market with a compelling price tag of ₹39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This introductory price is valid for customers who pre-book the vehicle before October 19, 2025, after which the cost will rise to ₹41 lakh. The company has announced that deliveries for the new EV, which is being assembled locally at its plant in Hosakote, Bengaluru, are set to begin in the first week of November.

This strategic pricing immediately positions the Volvo EX30 as the most accessible entry-point into the luxury electric vehicle segment in India. It undercuts key competitors like the Hyundai Ioniq 5, BMW iX1, Kia EV6, and the BYD Sealion 7, making Scandinavian EV technology more attainable than ever before.

Performance and Battery Specs Tailored for India

Understanding the needs of the Indian EV buyer, Volvo has opted to bring in a single, well-equipped variant for our market. Unlike international models, the India-spec EX30 comes exclusively with a larger 69kWh lithium-ion battery pack. This battery is paired with a rear-wheel-drive electric motor that delivers a robust 272hp and 343Nm of torque, enabling a swift 0-100 kph sprint in just 5.3 seconds.

For those concerned about range, the EX30 boasts a certified WLTP range of up to 480 kilometers on a single charge, which should alleviate range anxiety for both city commutes and longer highway journeys. The driving experience is enhanced by a one-pedal driving mode, which allows the driver to accelerate and decelerate using mostly the accelerator pedal by maximizing brake regeneration. Owners will receive an 11kW wallbox charger as standard, which can charge the battery from 0 to 100 percent in approximately 7 hours. Volvo backs the battery with an 8-year or 1,60,000-kilometer warranty.

A Distinctly Volvo Experience in a Compact Package

At first glance, the EX30 carries the unmistakable design DNA of Volvo, featuring the signature ‘Thor’s Hammer’ LED headlights and a clean, minimalist aesthetic. While it shares a family resemblance with the larger EX90 and EX40, its proportions are more crossover-like and agile. The India model comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels and a choice of five exterior colours.

Volvo-EX30-Cabin

Step inside, and the cabin continues Volvo’s reputation for Scandinavian minimalism and high-quality materials. The interior is dominated by a 12.3-inch vertical touchscreen that integrates Google services, reducing physical buttons and creating a sleek, modern environment. The cabin is adorned with Nordico upholstery, a sustainable material made from recycled products.

Key features include:

  • A premium 9-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
  • A large panoramic sunroof.
  • Dual-zone climate control.
  • Powered front seats and tailgate.
  • Wireless smartphone charging.

Safety, a cornerstone of the Volvo brand, is comprehensive. The EX30 is equipped with seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a suite of Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). This includes features like Lane Keep Aid, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert with brake support.

With its aggressive pricing, substantial electric range, and uncompromised premium features, the Volvo EX30 is poised to shake up the fledgling luxury EV market in India, offering a compelling blend of performance, safety, and sophisticated design.
