Mark your calendars, compact SUV enthusiasts. Hyundai has officially confirmed that the next-generation Venue will make its Indian debut on November 4, 2024. This isn’t just a minor refresh; the popular SUV is receiving a comprehensive transformation from the ground up, both inside and out, marking its first full model change since its initial launch back in May 2019.
Codenamed QU2i within Hyundai, the new Venue is poised to make a significant impact in one of the country’s most hotly contested automotive segments.
A Fresh Face with Creta-Inspired Flair
While spy shots and previews confirm the Venue will keep its signature tall and boxy stance, its design language is evolving dramatically. The new model draws clear inspiration from its larger sibling, the Hyundai Creta, adopting a modern and assertive road presence.

The front end is expected to feature a prominent, larger grille with a new rectangular pattern, flanked by a sophisticated split-headlamp setup. This likely includes sleek vertical LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs) positioned high up, with the main projector units lower down. Moving to the side, the profile will be enhanced with more pronounced wheel arch cladding, fresh designs for the 16-inch alloy wheels, and a redesigned window line for a sharper look. At the rear, a connected LED tail-lamp arrangement is anticipated to give the Venue a distinct and contemporary nighttime signature.
A Tech-Focused and Premium Cabin
The interior is where the new Venue is expected to take the biggest leap forward. The cabin is getting a complete redesign, moving away from the current layout to embrace a more digital and driver-centric experience. The centerpiece is expected to be a new twin-screen setup, likely combining a digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system, a feature that has been well-received in the latest Creta.
This will be complemented by a new steering wheel and updated switchgear, elevating the overall feel. On the feature front, Hyundai is likely to load the Venue to the brim to stay competitive. Key additions could include a 360-degree camera for easier maneuvering and a more advanced Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems) suite, enhancing safety on highways and in city traffic.
Proven Performance Carries Forward

Under the hood, Hyundai is expected to play it safe by carrying over the current model’s proven engine lineup. This strategic move helps keep costs in check while offering buyers a familiar choice of powertrains. The options will likely include:
- The 83hp, 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine, available with a 5-speed manual transmission.
- The peppy 120hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, offered with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox.
- The 100hp, 1.5-litre diesel engine, which is expected to remain exclusively paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
Since its last facelift in June 2022, the Venue has consistently been a top performer for Hyundai, regularly selling between 7,000 to 8,000 units every month. Upon its launch, the next-generation model will once again lock horns with formidable rivals like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Brezza, Mahindra XUV 3XO, and the Kia Sonet in the fiercely competitive compact SUV arena.
