The popular Skoda Kushaq is gearing up for a significant refresh, and new spy shots from its testing rounds on Indian roads have revealed some of its most exciting new features. The most notable addition spotted is a large panoramic sunroof, a feature highly sought after by buyers in the competitive mid-size SUV segment.
This facelift is more than just a simple aesthetic touch-up. Alongside subtle styling revisions, the Kushaq is expected to elevate its game with the introduction of Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems), marking a major step forward in its safety and technology offering.
A Sharper, More Contemporary Stance
While the Kushaq’s recognizable and well-proportioned silhouette remains intact, Skoda’s designers are giving it a fresh new face. The updates are expected to be nuanced, focusing on a more modern and connected design language.
The front fascia will likely receive revised headlamps and fog lamps. Taking a cue from its bigger sibling, the Kodiaq, the Kushaq facelift could feature a sleek LED strip that runs across the grille, seamlessly connecting the headlights. The signature grille and lower air dams are also in for minor refinements to complete the sharper look.
Moving to the side, we might see a new design for blacked-out alloy wheels. At the rear, the changes are set to be more dramatic, with slimmer tail lamps that are likely to be joined by a full-width LED light bar on the tailgate, giving the SUV a wider and more premium stance. The rear bumper will also be redesigned to align with the new aesthetic.
A Tech-Focused Cabin Upgrade
Inside the cabin, the Kushaq is poised to become a more feature-rich environment. Although the interior is still under wraps, we anticipate updates to the upholstery, new colour options, and upgraded materials to enhance the overall feel.

More importantly, the integration of Level 2 ADAS will bring a suite of semi-autonomous driving aids, such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, providing an extra layer of safety and convenience on long drives. Familiar, Proven Powertrains Continue
Under the hood, the Kushaq facelift will stick with the proven and powerful petrol engines that have been its cornerstone. Buyers will have the choice between:
- A 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine generating 115 horsepower.
- A more powerful 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that delivers 150 horsepower.
The transmission options are also expected to remain consistent for now. The 1.0-litre engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The 1.5-litre unit is exclusively offered with a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Looking ahead, Skoda is planning a significant update to the 1.0-litre variant by replacing its current 6-speed automatic with a new 8-speed torque converter unit sourced from AISIN, a move that promises even smoother shifts and potentially improved refinement.
The Kushaq facelift, with its blend of enhanced style, a more premium cabin, and crucial tech additions, is shaping up to be a formidable package ready to take on rivals with renewed vigour when it launches in the coming months.
