Hero MotoCorp has officially launched the much-anticipated Xtreme 160R 4V with cruise control, positioning it as the new flagship of the series. Priced at Rs 1.34 lakh (ex-showroom), this variant commands a premium of Rs 4,485 over the standard model, a price bump that brings several segment-first electronics to the table.
The introduction follows Hero’s teaser last week, which confirmed the feature additions but kept the price under wraps. This move significantly boosts the bike’s technological appeal in the fiercely competitive 160cc motorcycle segment.
What Sets the New Variant Apart?

At its heart, the motorcycle remains mechanically identical to its sibling. It is powered by the same dependable 163.2cc, single-cylinder engine, churning out 16.9hp and 14.6Nm of torque. The real transformation is electronic.
The key upgrade is the adoption of a ride-by-wire throttle system. This technology replaces the traditional mechanical cable with an electronic signal, which not only enables the headline cruise control feature but also unlocks three distinct riding modes:
- Rain: Tames power output for better control on slippery surfaces.
- Road: Offers a balanced setting for everyday commuting.
- Sport: Unleashes the engine’s full potential for a more spirited ride.
These modes are selected via updated switchgear and their effects are displayed on a new color LCD instrument console, borrowed from the more powerful Xtreme 250R. Complementing the tech upgrade is a fresh LED headlight design that also takes inspiration from the 250R, giving the bike a more modern and aggressive front-end look.
Exclusive Styling and Competitive Standing

The Xtreme 160R 4V with cruise control is available in a range of four color schemes. The most notable is the exclusive ‘Combat Edition,’ which features a matte grey finish. Other options include dual-tone bronze/black, dual-tone forest green/neon green, and a classic black with red accents.
For the additional investment, buyers get a compelling package that directly challenges rivals like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and the Bajaj Pulsar N160. The addition of cruise control and multiple riding modes provides a tangible technological edge, making it a strong contender for riders seeking advanced features in the 160cc class.
