Ducati has set the stage for an exciting new arrival in the Indian performance motorcycle market. Following its global debut earlier this year, the Italian manufacturer has now officially teased the upcoming XDiavel V4 on its Indian social media channels, confirming its imminent launch. Bookings for the motorcycle are already open across authorized dealerships.
While it shares its mechanical heart with the formidable Diavel V4, the new XDiavel V4 carves its own identity as Ducati’s interpretation of the power cruiser. Think of them as brothers from the same performance-oriented mother, but with distinctly different personalities. The Diavel is the aggressive, hunkered-down muscle bike; the XDiavel is its more relaxed, laid-back counterpart, designed for commanding presence and extended comfort without sacrificing an ounce of the family’s signature power.

At its core beats the same awe-inspiring 1,158cc Granturismo V4 engine, churning out an identical 168 horsepower and 126 Nm of torque. The braking and suspension hardware also carry over, ensuring the XDiavel inherits the Diavel’s stellar dynamic capabilities. However, a significant shift from the previous XDiavel 1260 is the adoption of a chain drive system, aligning it with the Diavel V4 and underscoring its performance DNA.
The real differentiation lies in the riding posture and ergonomics. Ducati has engineered the XDiavel V4 around a “relaxed rider’s triangle.” This is achieved through forward-set footpegs and a swept-back, wider handlebar, inviting a more leisurely, stretched-out riding position reminiscent of classic cruisers. For riders who prefer a different stance, Ducati will offer mid-mounted footpegs as an accessory. Attention has also been paid to the passenger experience, with a redesigned, wider pillion seat for improved comfort. The seat height is a low 770mm (20mm lower than the Diavel V4), aiding confidence at a standstill, though the overall weight is a substantial 226kg (dry).

Visually, the XDiavel V4 presents a smoother, more flowing silhouette compared to the Diavel’s sharp, creased design, complemented by uniquely styled alloy wheels. Inside the cockpit, riders are greeted by a significant upgrade: the full-color 6.9-inch TFT display borrowed from the latest Panigale and Streetfighter V4 models, offering advanced connectivity and a premium interface.
As bookings commence, industry expectations place the XDiavel V4 at a premium over the standard Diavel V4, which currently retails at Rs 29.08 lakh (ex-showroom). This positions the new XDiavel not just as an alternative, but as the flagship cruiser in Ducati’s Indian lineup, merging long-haul comfort with the soul-stirring performance of a V4 engine.
