Hyundai Creta EV, i20 & Alcazar Knight Editions Launched in India

Hyundai Creta EV, i20 and Alcazar Knight Edition

Hyundai Motor India has rolled out an exciting trio of vehicles just ahead of the festive season, introducing Knight Edition variants of the Creta Electric, i20, and Alcazar. This strategic move comes shortly after the company launched the Creta King edition, demonstrating their commitment to offering diverse special edition models for Indian consumers.

The timing couldn’t be better for Hyundai’s Knight series expansion. Since debuting in 2022, this distinctive lineup has captured the imagination of Indian buyers, with over 77,000 units finding homes across the country. The success story speaks volumes about the market’s appetite for vehicles that break away from conventional aesthetics.

What makes these Knight editions particularly compelling is their comprehensive design philosophy. Every model receives a complete makeover centered around a sophisticated all-black theme. The exterior transformation includes glossy black alloy wheels paired with striking red brake calipers, creating an unmistakable sporty appearance. The blacked-out treatment extends to skid plates, side sills, roof rails, and rear spoilers, while matte-black Hyundai logos replace the standard chrome versions.

Inside the cabin, the dark theme continues with black upholstery complemented by elegant brass highlights. The dashboard receives a Knight-specific finish, and sporty metal pedals add to the premium feel. These interior touches create a cohesive design language that sets these models apart from their standard counterparts.

The Creta Electric Knight represents the most significant addition to this latest launch. Available in the Excellence variant, buyers can choose between two battery configurations. The 42 kWh option delivers a certified range of 420 kilometers, while the larger 51.4 kWh pack extends this to an impressive 510 kilometers on a single charge. This electric variant also introduces a new Matte Black paint option, which is also available on the Alcazar Knight Edition.

For the i20 Knight, Hyundai has equipped the model with their reliable 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine. Customers can select from Sportz (O) MT and Asta (O) IVT trim levels. Beyond the Knight styling package, the entire i20 range benefits from several feature upgrades. A new sporty rear spoiler enhances the vehicle’s dynamic appearance, while select variants now include a dashcam and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity through an adapter. The performance-focused i20 N Line continues unchanged with its 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine, offering both manual transmission and dual-clutch automatic options.

The Alcazar Knight caters to families seeking premium SUV capabilities wrapped in distinctive styling. This seven-seater is available with two powertrain options: a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine paired with a seven-speed DCT automatic transmission, or a 1.5-liter diesel engine matched to a six-speed automatic gearbox. Both configurations come in the top-spec Signature trim and can now be ordered in the exclusive Matte Black exterior finish. Like other models in the range, the Alcazar Signature variants also receive dashcam integration.

The expanded Knight family now encompasses six different models, including the previously launched Creta Knight, Venue Knight, and Exter Knight. This broad portfolio makes Hyundai’s Knight series one of the most comprehensive special edition lineups available in the Indian automotive market.

Pricing for these new Knight editions starts at ₹9.14 lakh (ex-showroom) for the i20 Sportz (O) MT Knight variant. At the premium end, the Creta Electric Knight LR with home charger commands ₹24.54 lakh. This pricing strategy positions the Knight editions as accessible upgrades over standard models while maintaining their exclusive appeal.

The launch timing aligns perfectly with India’s festive buying season, when consumers traditionally make significant purchases. Hyundai’s strategy of offering these distinctive models during this period could significantly boost sales numbers and further cement the Knight series’ popularity among style-conscious buyers seeking something beyond conventional automotive offerings.
