Lexus has quietly refined its flagship LM people-mover for the Indian market, introducing a suite of subtle yet significant enhancements aimed at deepening the ownership experience. In a move that underscores its customer-first approach, the brand has integrated these new convenience and safety features without altering the MPV’s price tag, which ranges from Rs 2.15 crore to Rs 2.69 crore (ex-showroom). Deliveries of the updated model are already underway across the country.
The changes, while not radical, are strategically focused on enhancing the rear-seat passenger experience, a critical consideration for a vehicle designed as a sanctuary on wheels. The most notable addition is a new button on the rear console that allows occupants to open and close the powered sliding doors without reaching for the door itself. This eliminates a minor friction point, ensuring ultimate convenience for VIP passengers.
For the top-tier, four-seater Ultra Luxury variant, the updates continue. Lexus has fitted an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror, which reduces glare from following vehicles for a safer and more comfortable drive, especially during night-time journeys. A new rear tray has also been added, providing a dedicated space for passengers’ personal items, further solidifying the cabin’s focus on bespoke luxury.
A Step Towards Future-Proofing

Beyond the cabin comforts, Lexus has future-proofed the LM 350h’s powertrain. The familiar 2.5-litre hybrid petrol engine, which produces a combined 250hp, is now fully compliant with E20 fuel. This upgrade ensures the vehicle can run efficiently on a wider blend of ethanol-mixed petrol, aligning with broader industry and governmental goals for fuel flexibility.
The core identity of the Lexus LM remains untouched. It continues to be the most opulent MPV available in India, a fact reflected in its lavish interior that houses a 14-inch central infotainment screen, a 12.28-inch digital driver’s display, and an available 23-speaker Mark Levinson premium audio system. Comfort is paramount, with features like powered front seats and a four-zone automatic climate control system. Safety is equally comprehensive, bolstered by multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, and a Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
With its unparalleled focus on rear-seat luxury and a now-enhanced feature set, the Lexus LM 350h continues to occupy a unique niche. While it stands without a direct competitor, it is often viewed as the ultimate, more premium evolution of vehicles like the Toyota Vellfire, offering an unrivalled experience for those for whom cost is no object and luxury is everything.
