Mercedes-Benz India has rolled out significant price reductions across its popular E-Class Long Wheelbase and GLE lineup, with customers now able to save up to Rs 8 lakh thanks to the recent GST restructuring. The luxury automaker is simultaneously marking the E-Class LWB’s successful first year in the Indian market by launching an exclusive Verde Silver paint option that draws inspiration from the prestigious Mercedes-Maybach color palette.
The E-Class Long Wheelbase has achieved remarkable success since its debut, becoming India’s top-selling luxury sedan. This achievement stems from Mercedes-Benz’s thoughtful approach to localizing the vehicle for Indian conditions and preferences. The company has equipped the sedan with Enhanced Agility Control Suspension that’s been specifically calibrated for our road conditions, while Active Brake Assist comes standard across all variants.

What sets this model apart is its distinction as the first Mercedes-Benz vehicle manufactured in India to include a front center airbag, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to safety innovation. The practical considerations for Indian buyers are evident throughout the vehicle’s design. Engineers placed the spare wheel beneath the boot floor to maximize cargo space, while locally produced side and quarter glasses help keep costs manageable without compromising quality.
Comfort features have been carefully curated for the Indian luxury car buyer’s preferences. The rear seats recline up to 36 degrees, making this an ideal choice for customers who prefer being chauffeured. Quarter glass sun blinds and electrically operated rear blinds controlled through the MBUX system add to the premium rear passenger experience.
Advanced Technology Integration
The standout technological feature is the third-generation MBUX Superscreen, which leverages artificial intelligence to offer personalized experiences across five different display styles. This system introduces “personalized routines” that allow drivers to automate frequently performed tasks, streamlining the daily driving experience. A unique addition is the integrated selfie camera, enabling passengers to conduct video calls while on the move.
Audio enthusiasts will appreciate the Burmester 4D surround sound system featuring Dolby Atmos technology. This premium setup includes 17 speakers and four exciters delivering 730 watts of power, creating an immersive soundscape that rivals high-end home audio systems.

Mercedes-Benz emphasizes that all crash and emission testing has been conducted in Germany and Spain, adhering to their global quality standards despite local production. This approach ensures that Indian customers receive the same level of safety and environmental compliance as their international counterparts.
Pricing and Performance Specifications
The new Verde Silver edition is available across three trim levels, each offering distinct performance characteristics. The E200 variant starts at Rs 78.5 lakh and features a 2.0-liter petrol engine producing 204 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque. The mild-hybrid system adds an additional 23 horsepower and 205 Nm when needed, enabling a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 240 kmph.
For diesel enthusiasts, the E220d is priced at Rs 80.5 lakh and utilizes a 2.0-liter diesel engine generating 197 horsepower and 440 Nm of torque, also supplemented by electric assistance. Despite being diesel-powered, it maintains brisk performance with a 0-100 kmph time of 7.6 seconds and a maximum speed of 238 kmph.
The range-topping E450 4MATIC AMG Line carries a price tag of Rs 91.7 lakh and houses a 3.0-liter six-cylinder petrol engine delivering 381 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. Combined with the hybrid boost system for immediate torque delivery, this variant accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds before reaching its electronically limited top speed of 250 kmph.

The pricing benefits extend beyond the E-Class lineup. The GLE 450 4MATIC has seen a substantial Rs 8 lakh reduction following the GST reforms, now priced at Rs 1.07 crore ex-showroom. This represents significant value for customers considering Mercedes-Benz’s luxury SUV offering.
The GST 2.0 restructuring has created an opportune moment for luxury car buyers, as these price reductions make Mercedes-Benz vehicles more accessible while maintaining the brand’s premium positioning and comprehensive feature sets that Indian customers have come to expect.
