The middleweight adventure bike arena is about to get more crowded. At the recent EICMA show, the Chinese-owned Morbidelli brand unveiled its latest machine: the T502XR. This new model signals a clear intent to compete directly with established players like Voge and QJMotor in the popular and demanding dual-sport category.
Scheduled to launch first in Italy and Spain in the first half of 2026, the T502XR is poised for a subsequent rollout across Europe and other global markets, offering a fresh option for riders seeking a true go-anywhere machine.
Engine and Performance

At the heart of the T502XR beats a 486cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. This powerplant is tuned for robust performance across the rev range, producing 46.3 brake horsepower and a healthy 33.1 lb-ft of torque. Power is transferred to the rear wheel through a six-speed transmission equipped with a slipper clutch, a feature that aids stability during aggressive downshifts. Despite its capable chassis, Morbidelli has kept the bike’s curb weight to a manageable 198kg, promising a balanced ride both on and off the pavement.
Built for the Rough Stuff

While Morbidelli describes the T502XR as geared for a “50/50 on-road/off-road balance,” its hardware tells a slightly more dirt-focused story. The combination of a large 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel is a classic enduro setup, providing superior stability and obstacle clearance over rough terrain. These tubeless spoked wheels are fitted with deep-tread CST tires, further underscoring its off-road intentions.
The suspension package is equally serious. Up front, 41mm upside-down forks offer a generous 200mm of travel—20mm more than its T502X sibling. At the rear, a Pro-link monoshock handles bumps with 69mm of travel. This, combined with a significant 230mm of ground clearance, means the T502XR should confidently tackle ruts, rocks, and ruts without breaking a sweat. Riders should note the 860mm seat height, which is taller than many in its class and is designed for optimal standing-up riding posture off-road.
Technology and Rider Aids

The T502XR is far from a bare-bones adventurer. It introduces an Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) system, which enables a suite of four selectable riding modes: Standard, Rainy, Sport, and Off-Road. The dedicated Off-Road mode recalibrates power delivery for slippery surfaces and allows for customized management of the bike’s rider aids.
Safety is handled by J.Juan braking components, with a potent four-piston caliper biting a 320mm front disc. A Bosch ABS system is standard but offers the crucial flexibility to be deactivated at the rear wheel only or switched off completely for unimpeded off-road braking control.
For navigation and comfort, riders are treated to a modern 7-inch TFT screen that provides access to connectivity features. Heated grips and a heated seat come as standard equipment, ensuring comfort on long, chilly journeys.
Positioning in the Market
With its compelling blend of power, off-road-focused geometry, and modern electronics, the Morbidelli T502XR is positioned as a direct competitor to bikes like the Voge DS525X and the QJMotor SRT 600 S. Its 2026 arrival promises to give adventure enthusiasts a compelling new choice that doesn’t compromise on capability or technology.
