Ola Unveils New S1 Pro Sport and Cutting-Edge EV Technologies

Ola Electric hosted its much-anticipated annual 15th August event, unveiling an array of exciting product updates and forward-thinking technologies. The announcements included the new Ola S1 Pro Sport scooter, their upcoming MoveOS 6 operating system, and the integration of in-house 4680 battery cells in their vehicles. With bold plans and introductions, Ola is looking to assert its dominance in the rapidly evolving EV market.

Future-Forward EV Advancements

The most exciting updates involve Ola’s in-house 4680 battery cells, which promise to revolutionize their EV lineup. These cells will debut in September 2025, first featured in the Ola S1 Pro+ and the Roadster X+. Both models will come with significant cost reductions. The S1 Pro+ price will drop from ₹1.99 lakh to ₹1.7 lakh thanks to the integration of these locally manufactured battery cells, while the high-capacity Roadster X+ sees a reduction from ₹2.25 lakh to ₹1.9 lakh.

Customers booking either model by August 17, 2025, will also enjoy an additional ₹10,000 discount. Deliveries are slated to begin on September 22, offering a quick charge time of just 15 minutes (from 20% to 80%) when using compatible fast chargers. While the specifics of upgrading the rest of their lineup with these cells remain unclear, Ola’s advancements signal a massive leap forward in EV affordability and accessibility.

Cutting-Edge Ola S1 Pro Sport

The new Ola S1 Pro Sport scooter is another highlight of the company’s lineup. Scheduled to debut in January 2026, it will be Ola’s most powerful scooter yet. With a top speed of 152 km/h and the ability to go from 0 to 40 km/h in just 2 seconds, it sets new benchmarks in performance.

The scooter comes equipped with a larger 14-inch front wheel and refined suspension, including gas-charged rear suspension for enhanced ride comfort. A redesigned front apron incorporates a front camera, enabling advanced driver-assistance features such as collision detection via the new MoveOS 6 software. To top it off, it includes a sculpted seat, a carbon fiber front fender, and Ola’s signature 4680 battery cells, offering an impressive 320 km range (IDC).

The introductory price of ₹1,49,999 adds even more appeal, especially considering the advanced features and build quality. Pre-orders are now open for only ₹999, signaling strong anticipation among EV enthusiasts.

Ola MoveOS 6 Brings ADAS and AI Integration

One of the company’s most remarkable software highlights is the MoveOS 6, Ola’s latest EV operating system set for release in early 2026. It delivers a range of intelligent features driven by cutting-edge AI technology. The system will support 11 languages, voice assistants, and comprehensive Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS).

ADAS features will include collision warning, blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and speeding alerts, among others. Ensuring a high level of safety and adaptability, the MoveOS 6 software could redefine user interaction across Ola’s EV offerings.

Rare-Earth Free Motors and the Gen 4 Platform

Ola is also advancing in hardware with its new rare-earth-free Ferrite motors, resolving challenges tied to rare-earth materials’ supply chain issues. These motors match the performance of conventional rare-earth permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) without relying on restricted resources.

Rare-Earth Free Motors and the Gen 4 Platform

Complementing the motors, Ola’s fourth-generation platform will boast these motors along with next-generation battery cells, specifically the 46100 and 46120 cell variants currently under development. While no release timeline was provided, Ola stated these motors and platform elements “will be in customers’ hands soon.”

Looking to the Future

Ola’s strategic focus on homegrown technologies, including battery cell development, advanced software, and hardware solutions, highlights its commitment to leading the EV revolution. These innovations not only enhance functionality but also lower customer costs, fostering accessibility to state-of-the-art electric vehicles.

With upcoming launches like the S1 Pro Sport scooter, MoveOS 6, and the Gen 4 platform, Ola positions itself as a pioneer in the EV space. Whether it’s delivering advanced ADAS capabilities, reducing environmental impact with rare-earth-free motors, or offering better value to its customers, Ola’s roadmap is a promising glimpse into the future of mobility.
