The Indian compact SUV market has a fresh contender with the launch of the 2025 Renault Kiger facelift. Priced from Rs. 6.29 lakh to Rs. 11.29 lakh (ex-showroom), the updated Kiger arrives with a host of cosmetic enhancements and new features, aiming to strengthen its position in this highly competitive segment. While the reliable petrol engines from the previous model are retained, the SUV now boasts a refreshed trim lineup and a more premium feel.

Renault has restructured the Kiger’s variant lineup, moving away from the previous RXE, RXL, RXT(O), and RXZ trims. The 2025 model is now offered in four distinct grades: Authentic, Evolution, Techno, and Emotion. This revision comes with a modest price increase of approximately Rs. 14,000 over the outgoing model, which Renault attributes to the added features and updated styling.

What’s New in the 2025 Kiger Facelift?

Renault has focused on giving the Kiger a more modern and sophisticated appearance. The exterior updates are subtle yet effective, featuring new graphics on the C-pillar, stylish 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, and a newly designed Renault logo. The front bumper has been tweaked with silver accents, complementing the sleek LED headlamps and fog lamp housings. For those seeking a more distinctive look, the top-tier variants are available with an optional dual-tone finish on the roof and pillars.

A standout addition is the exclusive Oasis Yellow paint color, which adds a vibrant and energetic touch to the Kiger’s personality. This new shade is paired with a black front grille and a metallic grey skid plate, enhancing the SUV’s confident stance. In addition to Oasis Yellow, the Kiger is available in six other colors: Shadow Grey, Radiant Red, Caspian Blue, Ice Cool White, Moonlight Silver, and Stealth Black.

Renault has also improved the noise insulation, promising a quieter and more pleasant in-cabin experience.

The technology package has also been elevated. Key features include:

  • An 8-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system
  • Wireless smartphone connectivity (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto)
  • A premium 3D ARKAMYS surround sound system
  • Multi-view camera for easier parking
  • Automatic headlamps and rain-sensing wipers

Engine and Performance

Renault Kiger Facelift Engine

Under the hood, the 2025 Kiger facelift continues with its proven engine options. Buyers can choose between a naturally-aspirated 1.0L petrol engine and a more powerful 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine.

  • The 1.0L naturally-aspirated engine produces 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque.
  • The 1.0L turbocharged engine delivers a punchier 98.5 bhp and 160 Nm of torque.

A 5-speed manual transmission is standard for both engines. For automatic options, the 1.0L naturally-aspirated engine is available with a 5-speed AMT, while the 1.0L turbo-petrol engine is paired with a smooth CVT gearbox. The SUV also offers Eco, Normal, and Sport drive modes, allowing drivers to tailor the driving experience to their preference.

Enhanced Safety and Practicality

Renault has significantly bolstered the Kiger’s safety credentials by standardizing 21 advanced safety features across all variants. This comprehensive safety suite includes 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages, making the Kiger one of the safer options in its class.

The brand also highlights the Kiger’s best-in-segment rear knee room, ensuring that even passengers in the back have ample space and comfort.

Speaking on the launch, Venkatram Mamillapalle, MD and CEO of Renault India, commented, “Kiger has been a unique product in its segment, and with this latest evolution, we are reaffirming our commitment to making expressive design, intelligent engineering, and real-world performance accessible to Indian customers.”
