Renault Kwid 10th Anniversary Edition Launched: Limited to 500 Units, Priced from ₹5.14 Lakh

Renault Kwid 10th Anniversary Edition

Renault India is throwing a birthday party for one of its most successful models, the Kwid, which has completed ten years on Indian roads. To mark this milestone, the automaker has unveiled a special 10th Anniversary Edition, a limited-run model packed with exclusive styling cues. Alongside this celebratory launch, Renault has also refreshed the entire Kwid lineup with new variant names and enhanced safety features, ensuring the car remains a formidable contender in the budget hatchback segment.

A Commemorative Model with Exclusive Flair

Limited to just 500 units, the 10th Anniversary Edition is based on the Kwid’s Techno trim and is designed to stand out. It introduces a striking dual-tone exterior, making the Kwid the most affordable car in India to offer this premium finish. Buyers can choose between two colour schemes: a vibrant Fiery Red with a Black roof or a sophisticated Shadow Grey with a Black roof.

The special edition goes beyond just a two-tone paint job. It features distinctive black Flex wheels, unique decals on the body, and a bold yellow insert on the grille. The celebratory theme continues inside the cabin, where mustard-yellow accents brighten the seats, steering wheel, and door trims. Adding to the exclusive feel are illuminated scuff plates and puddle lamps.

Priced at ₹5.14 lakh for the manual version and ₹5.63 lakh for the AMT (ex-showroom), this edition is a tribute to the model’s decade-long popularity.

A Refreshed Lineup for the Entire Range

The updates aren’t limited to the anniversary model. Renault has streamlined the Kwid’s variant structure, introducing new names: the base model is now called Evolution (replacing RXL), the mid-tier is the Techno (replacing RXT), and the top-end variant continues as the Climber.

More importantly, safety has been significantly upgraded across the board. Every variant now comes standard with three-point seatbelts for all passengers. In a major boost for safety in the segment, the top-tier Climber variant now boasts six airbags as standard, a feature rarely seen in this price bracket.

Powering the Kwid remains the trusted 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, producing 67 bhp and 91 Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT (Automated Manual Transmission), with the AMT option starting at an accessible ₹4.99 lakh. The overall pricing for the standard range remains aggressive, starting at ₹4.29 lakh for the base Authentic MT and going up to ₹5.99 lakh for the fully-loaded Climber AMT DT.

Commenting on the milestone, Venkatram Mamillapalle, Managing Director of Renault India, stated, “The Kwid has been instrumental in shaping Renault’s journey in India, redefining the entry segment with its innovation and over 95% localisation. This 10th Anniversary Edition celebrates a decade of customer trust and our commitment to delivering high-value mobility solutions.”

This strategic refresh reinforces the Kwid’s key strengths: an SUV-inspired stance, feature-rich interiors, and now, even stronger safety credentials, as it begins its second decade in the Indian market.
