The iconic thump of a Royal Enfield is getting a silent, electric successor. The brand has officially confirmed its second electric model, the Flying Flea S6, a scrambler-styled motorcycle set to hit Indian and global markets by the end of 2026. The announcement, made at the EICMA 2025 show in Milan, signals a bold step in Royal Enfield’s electric ambitions.
This new model, developed under the “Flying Flea” electric sub-brand, draws its name and spirit from the legendary, lightweight motorcycles that were airdropped with paratroopers during World War II. The original Flea was a tool for rapid, agile mobility in challenging conditions, a philosophy the new S6 aims to translate for the modern adventurer.
A Design That Bridges Eras
At first glance, the FF.S6 carries a minimalistic, functional aesthetic that echoes its predecessor, the FF.C6 cruiser. However, its intent is clear from its stance. It rides on a staggered wheel setup—a 19-inch front and 18-inch rear—paired with long-travel suspension and upside-down front forks, all hinting at its capability beyond paved roads.
The design cleverly incorporates historical nods without feeling dated. A finned magnesium case, which houses the battery, not only aids in cooling but also adds a classic mechanical touch. Up front, a round touchscreen TFT display replaces the traditional bulbous headlamp, offering a high-resolution interface for navigation and connected features while maintaining the classic silhouette. The most distinctive design element is a wing-shaped centre section, created by fin-inspired motifs that flow from the sides of the bike.
Built for City Streets and Dusty Trails
Royal Enfield promises the FF.S6 will be more than just a city commuter. It’s engineered to be a confident partner for both urban jungles and light off-road trails. Power comes from a high-torque electric motor, providing the instant thrust needed for quick overtakes and climbing inclines.
To ensure rider confidence across varied terrain, the S6 is equipped with a suite of electronic aids. This includes a dedicated off-road mode, switchable dual-channel ABS, and lean-angle-sensitive traction control. This means the bike can intelligently manage power and braking to prevent slips and slides, whether you’re leaning into a corner on tarmac or navigating a loose gravel path.
A Connected Riding Experience
The Flying Flea S6 is as much a tech product as it is a motorcycle. At its heart is a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor that runs an in-house operating system, enabling 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth connectivity. This system powers the TFT display and integrates voice-assist functionality for handling calls, music, and navigation without taking your hands off the handlebars.
Riders can deeply interact with their motorcycle through a companion smartphone app or even a smartwatch. This allows for monitoring diagnostics, adjusting ride modes, checking charging status, and more. Royal Enfield has also confirmed that the bike will receive Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, ensuring its software and features can improve over time.
With a planned launch in late 2026, the Flying Flea S6 is poised to enter an increasingly competitive electric motorcycle segment in India, where rivals like Hero MotoCorp and TVS are also preparing new offerings. Its success will hinge on delivering that unique blend of classic Royal Enfield character and zero-emission modernity at a competitive price point, making the wait until 2027 one filled with high anticipation.
