Adventure riders, take note. Royal Enfield has pulled the covers off a striking new variant of its popular adventure motorcycle—the Himalayan Mana Black Edition. First showcased at the EICMA 2025 show, this model is more than a simple color swap; it’s a factory-built tribute to one of the most challenging roads on the planet.
The bike draws its name and inspiration from the legendary Mana Pass. Situated at a breathtaking 5,632 meters (over 18,000 feet) in the Himalayas, this route is famed for its unforgiving terrain and sudden, harsh weather shifts. The Mana Black Edition is designed to embody the spirit of such an expedition.
A Purpose-Built Adventurer
At first glance, the deep matte Mana Black paint immediately sets this motorcycle apart. The finish is intended to reflect the stark, minimalist beauty of the high-altitude landscapes it’s named after. But the changes go far beyond cosmetics.
Built on the robust Sherpa 450 platform, this Himalayan comes adventure-ready straight from the factory. Key upgrades include:
- Black Rally hand guards for protection.
- A dedicated Rally mudguard for enhanced off-road capability.
- A grippy Black Rally dual seat for improved control and comfort.
- Practical wire-spoked tubeless wheels, combining classic style with modern puncture-resistance.
Performance and Capability

Powering the Mana Black Edition is the now-familiar 452cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. This DOHC powerplant delivers a confident 39.5 bhp and 40 Nm of torque, providing the steady, tractable power essential for both highway cruising and steep mountain climbs. The engine is managed by a 42 mm ride-by-wire electronic fuel-injection system and is paired with a smooth-shifting six-speed gearbox featuring a slip-and-assist clutch for easier operation.
The motorcycle’s chassis is built to handle rough going. It features a steel twin-spar frame, suspended by a 43 mm upside-down fork with 200 mm of travel at the front and a linkage-type monoshock at the rear. With a commanding 230 mm of ground clearance and a tall 860 mm seat height, it’s clear this bike is meant to conquer obstacles with ease.
Adventure-Focused Features
Royal Enfield has equipped this Himalayan to be a true touring partner. The centerpiece of the cockpit is a modern four-inch round TFT display. This screen offers full Google Maps-powered navigation, allowing riders to venture off the beaten path without losing their way. It also provides access to ride modes, media controls, and a USB Type-C charging port.

Safety is handled by a capable braking system—a 320 mm front disc and a 270 mm rear disc, backed by dual-channel switchable ABS for controlled stopping power on any surface. The bike rolls on a 90/90-21 front and 140/80 R17 rear tire combination, ideal for a mix of terrains. Adding to its modern touches, all lighting is LED.
With a 17-liter fuel tank and a kerb weight of 195 kg, the Mana Black Edition is built for long-haul journeys.
