TVS Apache RTR 160 & 200 4V Launched

TVS Motor Company has marked a significant milestone by launching refreshed versions of their popular Apache RTR 160 and 200 4V motorcycles, coinciding with the Apache brand’s 20th anniversary celebrations. The Indian motorcycle manufacturer has introduced comprehensive updates to these performance-oriented bikes while also rolling out special anniversary editions across the entire Apache lineup.

The timing couldn’t be more appropriate as TVS celebrates two decades of the Apache brand, which has garnered an impressive following of over 6.5 million riders worldwide. This achievement speaks volumes about the brand’s ability to connect with performance enthusiasts who seek both style and substance in their motorcycles.

What’s New in the Updated Models

The standout feature of these refreshed motorcycles is the completely redesigned front section, which now sports a modern Class-D projector headlamp system complemented by distinctive LED daytime running lights. This upgrade not only enhances visibility during night rides but also gives the bikes a more contemporary and aggressive appearance that aligns with current design trends.

Perhaps the most significant technological leap comes in the form of a new 5-inch TFT display cluster that replaces the traditional instrument panel. This advanced display connects seamlessly with smartphones via Bluetooth, offering riders access to Voice Assistant functionality. The integration allows for hands-free operation of various features, making rides safer and more convenient.

Safety receives equal attention with the inclusion of a traction control system and an assist-and-slipper clutch mechanism. These features work together to provide better control during challenging riding conditions and smoother gear transitions, particularly beneficial for both novice and experienced riders.

The Apache RTR 160 4V now comes with three distinct riding modes, allowing riders to customize their experience based on road conditions and personal preferences. Dual-channel ABS ensures optimal braking performance, while the turn-by-turn navigation feature transforms the motorcycle into a smart mobility solution for urban commuting and long-distance touring.

Pricing and Variant Details

TVS has structured the pricing strategically across multiple variants to cater to different budget segments. The Apache RTR 160 4V lineup begins with the Black Edition variant priced at Rs. 1,28,490, while the top-tier TFT + Projector Headlamp variant reaches Rs. 1,47,990.

For those seeking more power, the Apache RTR 200 4V range starts at Rs. 1,53,990 for the USD + LCD variant and tops out at Rs. 1,59,990 for the premium TFT + Projector Headlamp version. These pricing points position the motorcycles competitively within the premium commuter and entry-level performance segments.

The special 20th anniversary editions command a premium, with the RTR 160 priced at Rs. 1,37,990, the RTR 180 at Rs. 1,39,990, and the RTR 160 4V at Rs. 1,50,990. The anniversary RTR 200 4V is available for Rs. 1,62,990, while the flagship RTR 310 and RR 310 models are priced at Rs. 3,11,000 and Rs. 3,37,000 respectively.

Anniversary Edition Highlights

The commemorative models feature an eye-catching dual-tone color scheme combining black and champagne gold, creating a premium aesthetic that distinguishes them from regular variants. The alloy wheels receive the same dual-tone treatment, adding visual appeal and exclusivity to these limited-run motorcycles.

Practical additions include a USB charging port, addressing the modern rider’s need to keep devices powered during journeys. Each anniversary model also carries a special commemorative logo celebrating the Apache brand’s 20-year journey, making these motorcycles collector’s items for enthusiasts.

Color Options and Visual Appeal

TVS has expanded the color palette for both models, with the RTR 160 4V available in Racing Red, Marine Blue, and Matte Black finishes. The RTR 200 4V offers choices between Matte Black and Granite Grey, providing options that appeal to different aesthetic preferences while maintaining the bikes’ sporty character.

Performance Specifications Remain Strong

While the focus has been on enhancing features and technology, TVS has maintained the proven powertrain specifications that made these motorcycles popular. The 160cc air and oil-cooled engine continues to deliver reliable performance with unchanged power figures and dimensions, ensuring that existing Apache fans will feel at home with the updated models.

K N Radhakrishnan, Director and CEO of TVS Motor Company, expressed gratitude toward the global Apache community, acknowledging how rider feedback and enthusiasm have shaped the brand’s evolution over two decades. This customer-centric approach has helped TVS Apache become one of the fastest-growing sports motorcycle brands globally.

The launch represents more than just product updates; it demonstrates TVS’s commitment to continuous innovation while honoring the heritage that has made Apache a household name among performance motorcycle enthusiasts across India and international markets.
