TVS Motor Company has officially stepped into the commercial electric vehicle space with the launch of the King Kargo HD EV. This new electric three-wheeler is designed to meet the growing demands of last-mile logistics in both urban and semi-urban areas. The launch marks a significant expansion for the Indian manufacturer, which is well-known for its conventionally powered King Kargo model featuring a 225cc liquid-cooled engine.
Alongside the electric variant, TVS also showcased the King Kargo HD CNG, signaling its commitment to diverse fuel options. The CNG model is slated for release by the end of 2025.
Built for Last-Mile Delivery
The TVS King Kargo HD EV is engineered specifically for the challenges of final-mile delivery services. It boasts a 6.6-foot load deck supported by a robust leaf spring suspension, ensuring it can handle substantial cargo with ease. Performance-wise, the vehicle has a top speed of 60 kmph, which is ample for city-based operations. To give buyers peace of mind, TVS is offering a standard warranty of 6 years or 1.5 lakh kilometers, whichever comes first.
Practicality is a key focus of its design. The EV features a low loading height of 703 mm, making it easier to load and unload goods. Its high ground clearance of 235 mm and a water wading capacity of 500 mm make it a reliable choice for navigating varied road conditions.
Charging, Maneuverability, and Safety
Efficiency is crucial in the logistics sector, and the King Kargo HD EV addresses this with a claimed charging time of just 3 hours and 10 minutes. Navigating tight city streets and congested traffic is made simpler with its best-in-class turning radius of 3,420 mm. For safety, the vehicle is equipped with 200mm diameter drum brakes, which provide the shortest braking distance in its category.
Segment-First Features and Smart Technology
The King Kargo HD EV is packed with features that are a first for its segment. It comes with modern LED headlamps and tail lamps, a spacious cabin with fully rolling windows, and stylish door trims designed for better ventilation. A dedicated “Power Gear Mode” delivers enhanced torque when carrying heavy loads. For safer navigation, a twin-axis rear-view mirror is also included.
TVS has integrated its SmartXonnect application, offering 26 smart features for drivers. Fleet operators can also benefit from TVS Connect Fleet, a telematics solution with 31 advanced features that provide complete control and visibility over their vehicle operations through a web-based platform.
Pricing and Availability
The TVS King Kargo HD EV is priced at Rs. 3.85 lakh (ex-showroom). The initial launch phase will see the electric three-wheeler become available in key markets, including Delhi, the National Capital Region (Faridabad, Noida, Gurgaon, Ghaziabad), Rajasthan, and Bengaluru.
