Ultraviolette Secures £15M Funding to Revolutionize Electric Motorcycles

India’s electric vehicle sensation, Ultraviolette, is charging ahead with bold ambitions and now, a fresh wave of funding. The company, known for its futuristic F77 Mach 2 electric motorcycle, recently raised $21 million (£15.48 million), propelling its vision to deliver cutting-edge EVs globally.

Backed by Big Names

The majority of the funding comes from TDK Ventures, the venture-capital arm of Japan’s TDK Corporation. They join an impressive roster of investors, including Zoho Corporation and Lingotto (part of Exor). These partnerships mark a crucial step in Ultraviolette’s strategy to dominate the high-performance EV market.

Overcoming Industry Challenges

For the motorcycle industry, especially within the electric segment, balancing investment and profitability has historically been a challenge. But confidence in Ultraviolette’s innovative approach appears to overshadow such concerns for now.

“Partnering with TDK Ventures catapults our efforts in developing advanced battery platforms and intelligent vehicle systems,” said Narayan Subramaniam, CEO and co-founder of Ultraviolette.

The funding will likely fuel Ultraviolette’s plans to expand its vehicle lineup and global dealer network. Currently offering two models – the F77 Mach 2 and the F77 Super Street – the company aims to introduce 14 electric vehicle models by 2028.

First on the horizon is an enduro-style bike named the Shockwave, which is set to debut in early 2026. Following that, Ultraviolette plans to roll out a sleek maxi-scooter called the Tesseract, further diversifying its portfolio.

Global Reach

Ultraviolette’s global footprint continues to expand with dealerships across 20 cities in India and international representation in countries like Germany, France, the UK, and Spain. The company aims to grow its domestic reach from 20 to over 100 cities, signaling strong confidence in its scalability.

Their presence in the UK includes seven dealerships, notably featuring Krazy Horse as a key partner across England and Wales.

Looking Ahead

With a solid financial foundation and ambitious growth plans, Ultraviolette is poised to leave a significant mark on the EV industry. For enthusiasts and industry watchers, the company’s focus on innovation, sustainability, and global expansion is a story worth following.
